Artistic genius, political activist, painter and decorator, mythic legend or notorious graffiti artist? The work of Banksy is unmistakable (except maybe when it’s squatting in the New York’s Metropolitan Museum or Museum of Modern Art.) Banksy is responsible for decorating the streets, walls, bridges and zoos of towns and cites throughout the world.
Witty and subversive, his stencils show monkeys with weapons of mass destruction, policeman with smiley faces, rats with drills and umbrellas. If you look hard enough you’ll find your own. His statements, incitements, ironies and epigrams are by turns intelligent and witty comments on everything from the monarchy and capitalism to the war in Iraq and farm animals.
His identity remains unknown, but his work is prolific. And now for the first time, he’s putting together the best of his work—old and new—in a fully illustrated color volume.
Banksy, real name unknown, was born in Bristol, England.
But really doesn't exist because Banksy is a company of designers as we can seen in his movie "EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP" (available clicking here).

El trabajo de Banksy es inconfundible (excepto cuando se mueve por el área metropolitana de Nueva York el Museo o el Museo de Arte Moderno). Banksy es responsable de la decoración de las calles, paredes, puentes y parques zoológicos de las ciudades de todo el mundo.
Ingenioso y subversivo, sus plantillas muestan monos con armas de destrucción masiva, policías con el rostro sonriente, ratas con taladros y sombrillas. Si miras lo suficiente quizás te encuentres a tí mismo. Sus declaraciones, incitaciones, ironías y epigramas son por turnos comentarios inteligentes e ingeniosos de todo tipo, desde la monarquía y el capitalismo a la guerra en Irak y los animales de granja.
Su identidad sigue siendo desconocida, pero su obra es prolífica. Y ahora, por primera vez, se está poniendo lo mejor de su obra-antiguos y nuevos-en un volumen de color totalmente ilustrado.
Banksy, del cual se desconoce su nombre real, nació en Bristol, Inglaterra.
